Warning signs

How to know you need us

Recognize one? Have it looked at before it grows.

  • Not being able to remember the last time they were cleaned
  • White spots and streaks that will not wipe off
  • Screens gone gray and dulling the light
  • Tracks full of grit so windows are hard to open
  • A new build still carrying construction film and stucco splatter
  • Listing the house, where clean glass changes every interior photograph

Your options

More than one right answer.

Outside only, inside and out, screens and tracks added, hard water treated: each is a different visit, priced on its own terms.

Exterior only

The quickest and cheapest visit, and enough if the inside was done recently.

Interior and exterior

The full job, including sills and frames. What most people mean when they say the windows need doing.

Full service with screens and tracks

Glass, screens and tracks together. The version that actually makes a window look new rather than clean.

Restoration

Hard water etching, paint and construction residue removed with proper compounds. Priced separately because it is a different job.

What it costs

What actually drives the price.

Window cleaning is priced by the pane, the height and the condition of the glass, so the honest figure comes from a count. These are what raise or lower it.

  • Pane count, not window count

A grid or divided-light window is many small panes and takes several times as long as a single sheet of the same area.

  • Interior, exterior or both

Exterior only is the quickest. Interior work means moving furniture, covering sills and working around a household.

  • Height and access

Ground floor is fast. Second and third-story glass, transoms and stairwell windows need poles or ladders and take considerably longer.

  • Condition

Routine dirt rinses away. Hard water etching, paint specks, construction film and years of build-up are restoration work rather than cleaning.

  • Screens and tracks

Removing, washing, drying and refitting screens, and vacuuming tracks, is usually where the visible difference comes from — and it is separate time.

Estimates are free, written and without obligation. Anything found only after starting is priced up front.

What happens

From your call to the finished job.

  1. Quick count

We count panes and note access rather than guessing from the outside, so the quote holds when we arrive.

  2. Preparation

Sills and floors protected inside, landscaping considered outside, and screens removed and labeled.

  3. The clean

Most homes are a half day. Larger homes and anything with restoration work run longer.

  4. Detail and walk-round

Frames and sills wiped, tracks vacuumed, screens refitted, and a walk-round with you before we leave.

Done badly

What goes wrong, and why it matters.

Shortcuts that cheapen the quote and cost you later. Ask anyone you are considering about them.

  • Cleaning in direct sun

The solution dries before it can be squeegeed off and leaves exactly the streaks you were trying to remove.

  • Using a razor on tempered glass

Tempered glass frequently carries surface fabricating debris, and a blade drags it and scratches the pane permanently.

  • Ignoring the frames and sills

Perfect glass above a dirty sill reads as a job half done, because the eye takes in the whole opening.

  • Letting sprinklers hit the windows

It is the cause of nearly all hard water etching on residential glass, and it is a five-minute adjustment.

Before you hire anyone

Six questions worth asking any window cleaner.

Including us. If a window cleaner cannot answer these easily, that is the answer.

  1. Is the price per window, and does it include screens and tracks?

A per-pane or per-window price with screens and tracks named as included or not. The house price that grows on the day is the complaint.

  2. Inside and out, or exterior only?

The quote says which. Half the streaks people complain about are on the side that was not cleaned.

  3. How do you reach the upper windows?

A water-fed pole where the height allows, ladders where it does not, and a crew that says which. The method is the safety answer.

  4. Are you insured for a ladder against my house?

Liability insurance, with a certificate. Window cleaning is ladder work and glass work, and that is what the coverage is for.

  5. What about the hard-water spots and the failed seals?

Mineral etching and fogged panes do not wash off, and the honest cleaner says so before starting rather than after.

  6. What if the windows streak by afternoon?

A return visit, in the terms. Streaking in the afternoon sun is a technique problem, and a good company owns it.

FAQ

Choosing a window cleaner in Nashville

How do I choose a window cleaner in Nashville?

Every window cleaning crew we run carries liability insurance on file with us, because the work is on ladders and around glass. Ask the six questions below of anyone, including us.

Should I get more than one quote for window cleaning?

Yes — and compare the scope, not the total. Window cleaning in Nashville is priced per pane, inside and out, with screens, tracks and hard-water stain removal as their own lines; a count of the windows sets the number, and the quote is by the window rather than by the hour.

Is the cheapest window cleaning quote usually a bad idea?

Not automatically; a low number is information. The south and west glass is done early or in shade; a streaked window in afternoon sun is a redo, not an invoice.

Do I need a permit for window cleaning in Nashville?

Window cleaning needs no permit from Metro Nashville and the surrounding counties; high work on a commercial building follows the fall-protection rules, and a company that does it has the equipment.

How far in advance should I book window cleaning?

A cleaning in Nashville is usually within the week, and spring and fall book fastest; the crew confirms the day before and works around the weather.
